By using ShopIt, you agree to the terms of this privacy policy.
Information collection
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (if you sign in with Google). We store your chat history, shopping lists, and store preferences so the app works across sessions. Your chat messages are sent to third-party AI services for processing.
Service providers
We use third-party services to operate the app, including for authentication, data storage, and AI responses. These services may access your information solely to perform their functions and have their own privacy policies.
Cookies
ShopIt uses functional cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Third-party services integrated within the app may use cookies to improve functionality.
Data security
We implement commercially reasonable security measures, but cannot guarantee absolute security of electronic data.
Data retention
Your data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal information (name, email, profile photo), chat history, and shopping lists are permanently removed immediately. Anonymised, non-identifiable usage data may be retained for service improvement. This data cannot be linked back to you in any way.
Children's privacy
ShopIt is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated periodically. Continued use of ShopIt after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
